1. Jimmy Fallon's Dull Hosting Job
Despite some stellar hosting jobs by Ricky Gervais in recent years, the last few Globes ceremonies have felt rather dull, and hiring someone as safe and milquetoast as Jimmy Fallon sure didn't help alleviate that feeling.
Instead of opting for an edgy comedian or someone who, well, isn't a talk show host, we got Fallon make a few decent digs in his opening gambit and then basically do nothing else of interest, and in fact go the opposite route with that horrible Cypress Hill parody.
Overnight ratings suggest this year's Globes fared surprisingly well with audiences, which will depressingly send the wrong message to NBC about what people actually want to see.
