21 Things Horror Movies Ruined For Every One

12. Power Tools

Notable offenders: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), The Toolbox Murders (1978), The Nail Gun Massacre (1985) If you were to look in your neighbors garage and see a chainsaw, a power drill and a nail gun you might be forgiven for thinking that your neighbor could be a homicidal maniac. Especially if you've never seen him do any sort of carpentry or landscaping in his life. Don't be ashamed, this is what horror movies have drilled (pun totally intended) into our heads for years now. There's a reason that most people still spell chain saw as two separate words when the general consensus is that it is indeed only one word. It€™s because that's the way it's spelled in all the Texas Chain Saw movies and that's how most of us still view chain saws as a whole. They're not used to cut down tree branches; they're used to hack off limbs, plain and simple. Or at least that's what Leatherface taught us.
