This has been by far the most unpredictable Oscar race in years, further exemplified by The Revenant's Best Film win, making it clear that any of the three front-runners, in Spotlight, The Big Short and The Revenant, could realistically pick up Best Picture in a few weeks. Though the preferential ballot system would hurt The Revenant, it's still anyone's race, and it'll at least make the Academy Awards ceremony a little more unpredictable than usual.
