22 Shots That Completely Ruined The Magic Of Star Wars

10. Puppet Fail

Goatse1 Size matters when it comes to movie monsters - the impression that they are raging goliaths that dwarf even larger starships, and could gobble a ship like the Millenium Falcon is key to selling the threat of the sequence. So, this glimpse of the puppeteers hand maneuvering the beast is somewhat difficult to take, even if the creature was never quite as convincing as it should have been before the re-done special effects of the re-releases made it feel more authentic. Rather unfortunately, this image has also now been appropriated by the online community dedicated to the awful GOATSE memes phenomena, thanks to its apparently uncanny resemblance to that awful practice.

9. Mommy, Something's Wrong With Yoda

Yoda Puppet Like seeing a muppet with someone's hand up its backside, this revelatory shot of Yoda's team of puppeteers, lead by the legendary Frank Oz, is devastating to the idea of the character as a living, breathing creature who would hang out with the rest of the crew between shots, rather than being put back in his box. Admittedly, this is far from the most devastating thing to include Yoda, since the little green man has recently clearly sold his soul to the advertising devil to sell mobiles for Vodafone, but it's still jarring to see such a convincing character laid so bare.
