25 Best Vampire Movies Ever Made
23. Dracula: Dead And Loving It
Although Mel Brooks’ vampire comedy Dracula: Dead And Loving It may have lacked the sharp satirical bite of the director’s other horror parody Young Frankenstein, earning it an overwhelmingly negative critical reception, the director's last film is nonetheless an enjoyably entertaining comedy and love letter to classic monster movies that horror fans will surely appreciate.
Starring the king of parody Leslie Nielson as Dracula, this comedy takes great joy in poking fun at the tropes of the genre, with the hypnosis sequence and hilariously gory staking scene being some of the most memorable highlights. Though while there are plenty of gags that don’t quite land, there are just enough razor-sharp lines and hilarious performances to make Dead And Loving It a comedy worth watching.
And special mention must go to Peter MacNicol for his animated and utterly hilarious performance as Renfield.
