25 Greatest Easter Eggs From The Last 20 Years Of Horror

7. Halloween H20

When co-star of the original babysitter slasher, PJ Soles, turned down the role of Laurie Strode-in-disguise Keri Tate€™s secretary in Halloween H20, it made way for one of the best cameos in the history of cinema.

Enter Janet Leigh, aka Marion Crane - the secretary stabbed to death by Norman Bates in Psycho. H20 director Steve Miner used her appearance to execute a string of subtle gags. She drives the same car as her character in Psycho, bearing the identical license plate, and just in case you missed that - listen up! As she stands talking to Tate (Jamie Lee Curtis) strains of the Psycho soundtrack can be heard.

Their banter continues, with Norma telling Tate that as it€™s Halloween €œeveryone is entitled to one good scare€ - a line spoken by Sheriff Brackett in the original Halloween, bringing the book-ends of the franchise into a neat loop. The cherry on top of this sundae is what Norma says to Tate by way of advice: €œIf I may be maternal for a moment...€

Janet Leigh is Jamie Lee Curtis€™ mother.
