25 Greatest Film Trailers From The 2000s

9. Inception (2010)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoilAmwzxWM Audiences eagerly awaited Christopher Nolan's followup film to The Dark Knight. It had an all-star cast and a hush-hush plot. This trailer was a major event, giving us a peek at the mind-blowing visuals and introducing us to the now cliche "BWAAAAAAAAAM" trailer sound effect. While typically attributed to Hans Zimmer, Zack Hemsey composed the great piece for the trailer, "Mind Heist". Nolan, as usual, kept things close to the chest, and even though we saw a bunch of things in the trailer, we didn't have any way to put what we saw into context. Inception turned out to be one of the best films in a long time, so it's only natural that its trailer hold a similar accomplishment.

8. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqeqaweXBV0 We've already established that David Fincher makes great trailers, and we might not be completely done with him on this list. I'm not the biggest fan of his films overall, but man can he make a beautiful trailer. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was one of my most anticipated films of 2008 after I saw this trailer, and ended up disappointed with the final product. Still, as is with most of Fincher's trailers, this works as its own short film. And what a great short film it is. The music is gorgeous, the cinematography striking, and the visuals used to portray Benjamin are state of the art. Sadly these two minutes didn't work as well when they were stretched into one hundred and sixty-six, but I can't complain about this great trailer.

Jeremy Sollie hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
