In Africa, a man is held captive by Jihadist fighters. In the middle of the Greenland Sea, a woman prepares to dive to the ocean floor. In their separate confines, the pair are drawn back to a chance encounter last Christmas, which led to an intense and enduring romance.

Combining three storylines, the movie will play as both romance and thriller. It's elevated by those involved, as it comes from director Win Wnders (Paris, Texas) and features two excellent leads in James McAvoy and Alicia Vikander, with support from Charlotte Rampling and Alexander Siddig.
