30 Horror Movie Survivors Who Probably Wished They'd Died

2. Late Night With The Devil - Jack Delroy

This is another character who suffered the grimmest of fates, and yet, unlike people such as Hereditary's Peter and Rosemary's Baby's title character, he brought this all on himself.

Jack Delroy (a wonderful David Dastmalchian) is a TV host who, to boost failing ratings, invites an apparently possessed girl onto his show. Many people warn him against this, but he's too focused on his show's success to listen, and by the end, things go catastrophically wrong.

The possessed girl (Ingrid Torelli) kills most of Jack's guests before Jack then has a moment of madness where he stabs the girl to death on live television. He is last shown standing in his studio, seemingly the only person left alive, as police sirens get closer.

Well, if you feel sorry for Jack, then don't. As it's revealed at the end of Late Night with the Devil, he had a prior connection to the demon and sold his wife's soul in exchange for fame, leading to her dying of cancer. He's certainly going to be famous now, but not in the way he wanted.

Hope it was worth it, Jack.
