30 Perfect Horror Scenes Of The 2020s

28. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Party Bus

From one amazing scene in a bad movie to another, it's time to talk about Texas Chainsaw Massacre's party bus scene.

This legacy sequel managed to annoy almost everyone in one way or another, what with its jarringly ugly tone, slapdash script and poor treatment of legacy character Sally Hardesty (Olwen Fouere). Nevertheless, it does have one genuinely jaw-dropping slice of blood-soaked mayhem hiding up its sleeve, and that's this sequence where Leatherface carves his way through various partying Gen-Z entrepreneurs on a bus.

It starts off awfully, with all of the bus' occupants raising their phones at exactly the same time to film Leatherface, and one of them says "Try anything and you're cancelled, bro!" As such, when this suddenly turns into the very best scene in the movie, and one of the best in the franchise full stop, it is quite the pleasant shock.

A gnarly load of neon-soaked, claustrophobic mayhem, this is an intense, gory knock-out of a set-piece that ever-so briefly captures the terror of the 1974 original. This certainly wasn't a good movie, but this scene alone almost makes it worth seeing.
