5 Directions That Mission: Impossible 5 Could Take

3. Ethan Hunt Goes Solo Again

mi5 We have a nice solid group of team members we€™re fond of in place for another sequel; and think what you like about Cruise, but none of his self-produced outings feel like ego trips. Maybe it would serve the story better by eliminating all of Hunt€™s team and he barely survives assassination himself by the skin of his teeth. Not only does this show just how unsafe an unpredictable it is to be affiliated with IMF and/or Ethan Hunt. It€™s unpredictable and will shake up an audience expecting a team effort this time round. Ghost Protocol ended with Ethan finding people he could trust and that he relied upon. If they€™re gone, then we veer into solid revenge thriller territory. Hunt crosses the globe and the character is pushed to his limits as he seeks vengeance against those who destroyed his little family unit. This could provide a fascinating character study and force Cruise to utilise all his charisma as he once again takes centre stage with no comic relief or opposition from within to hide behind. By limiting the amount of people we have to focus on, it could prove to be the best film of the lot if we have to find out who Ethan Hunt really is on his own and what he€™s all about. He€™s not on the run or backed up by anyone at all from any corner of the globe, but out of a personal quest with no one to blame for his obsession with revenge but himself.
