5 Doctor Who Actors Who Have Directed Their Own Movies

4. Noel Clarke

Noel Clarke transformed from would be tin dog to heroic Earth defender in his role as Mickey Smith but behind the scenes he was making a transformation of his very own, from guest starring actor to award winning director. He received critical acclaim for penning the 2006 film Kidulthood and his scriptwriting success was replicated in 2008 with the release of its sequel, Adulthood, which he also directed. His work behind the scenes won him the prestigious Rising Star gong at the 2009 BAFTAs and he's been making a name for himself ever since, with indie flicks such as Fast Girls and 4.3.2.1 being added to his already reputable résumé. His extraterrestrial escapades aboard the TARDIS obviously left a lasting impression, too, as in 2012 he wrote and starred in Storage 24, a sci-fi thriller set in a dystopian London, while one of his latest projects, The Anomaly, centres on a futuristic biotechnological battle involving mind control. Blimey. Where's the Doctor when you need him?!
