5. Bruce Willis
Remember when John McClane was cool? Die Hard is the best Christmas film ever made, and that's ultimately because it gave us all the gift of action. It's generally accepted that the first three films are top notch, but after this, as the newer movies attempted to best the previous outings, things started to go very wrong. When John McClane started fist fighting jets and destroying half of Russia's transport network, it was clear something had been lost in translation. At present, Bruce Willis just looks plain bored whenever he's up on screen. He isn't giving the roles his all anymore, and the characters are suffering for it. And when he's not phoning it in, he's playing it old. Coming out the same year as The Expendables and further proving that Hollywood is one large hive mind, RED showed us that there was room for more than one group of golden oldies actioning it up. Willis played Frank Moses, who - despite being the main character - somehow managed to be the least interesting person in the movie. The man's tired performances, coupled with the fact that he is notoriously bad to work with, will hopefully begin to mark the end of his action-orientated career. There is hope for Bruce Willis yet, I suppose, perhaps in more dramatic work... as an action man, though, he seriously needs to cut his loses.
