5 Movie Franchises That Got Better Over Time (And 5 That Got A Whole Lot Worse)
1. Worse: Terminator
As everybody knows, the definition of insanity is trying to do the same thing over and over while expecting different results, but apparently this doesn't apply to the various people that have held the rights to the Terminator franchise over the years.
Salvation was set to be the first installment of a new trilogy, one that would listen to the fans and offer them the reinvention of the series that they'd been crying out for. When that failed, we heard the exact same spiel from the team behind Genisys and when that also failed, we got it once more from those behind Dark Fate, except this time they had James Cameron and Linda Hamilton to fool us into thinking they'd get it right this time.
After four consecutive botched attempts at delivering the first great Terminator movie since 1991, Dark Fate's dismal performance at the box office may have hammered the final nail into the franchise's coffin. Having spent the best part of three decades trying to return to former glories, they're better off just leaving it well alone at this point.
