5 Things You Didn't Know About It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

3. It's A Loose Tooth, Charlie Brown

Its The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown1 They say that in Hollywood you should never work with children or animals. That was pretty unfortunate for anyone working on the Peanuts specials as the entire cast was made up of children and one of the main characters was a dog. Although we're sure there was plenty of other antics throughout the 50 plus years of Charlie Brown's animated adventures one famous story springs to mind and it's right from the set of It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Kathy Steinberg was voicing Sally, Charlie Brown's little sister, and despite barely being able to read the young actress had done a pretty decent job. Then one morning as her recording sessions were coming to an end Kathy's mum rang the studio and proclaimed all of her daughters lines would need rerecording as her tooth had become loose and created a lisp that changed her voice drastically from the one that had been recorded. Time constraints and budget would not allow for this and so the young girl was rushed into the studio and her lines were recorded as quickly as they could. According to the Blu-Ray documentary Mendelson recalls that Steinberg's tooth actually fell out of her mouth during her very last line.
