5 Things James Gunn Just Revealed About Guardians Of The Galaxy 2

1. Groot Is A Baby

After the events of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Groot was reset back to a sapling, having heroically sacrificed his evolved form to save his fellow Guardians. According to Gunn, the silhouette image of the team with Groot still in his small form should be taken as a hint of things to come.

He said during the Q&A that while Groot will grow (he won't say how big), he's definitely a baby at the start. So we can expect an entirely different dynamic in the team that cannot rely on Groot's massive strength. And presumably someone's going to have to take on some maternal duties to protect him. My money is on Drax.

Gunn also said that Spider-Man could join up with the Guardians Of The Galaxy "if I wanted to" but ruled it out pretty firmly. The over-riding message on the Avengers front seems to be that Gunn has no intention of cross-pollenating so obviously.
