5 Things You Need To Know About Star Wars 7 Villain Adam Driver

1. His Small Roles Have Shown His Big Talent

I am a particular fan of the saying "there's no such thing as a small role - only small actors." In a nutshell, it means an actor is only as big as the respect they give a role. In Adam Driver's case, he not only gives his utmost respect to the role, but he's also picked up a useful habit in picking the right ones. His short film career has seen him work with Clint Eastwood (J. Edgar), Steven Spielberg (Lincoln) and the Coen Brothers (Inside Llewyn Davis). As is the hallmark of a great talent, he is choosing roles that allow him the tutelage of cinema's most masterful filmmakers. With a prominent role in the up-and-coming Jeff Nichols production, Midnight Special (and a rumored role in Scorsese's Silence), Driver is proving himself to be an actor who takes his craft seriously, and clearly possesses a freshness and wealth of knowledge (inevitably passed on by the directors he's worked for) which he can bring to the Star Wars Universe. Congratulations, Adam: you just snagged one of the most coveted roles of the year. What do you think of the casting decision? Do you agree or disagree with the choice? I love all things imaginative, from the page to the screen, and nurture a soft spot for Donald Sutherland and Daniel Bryan.
