5 Weird Upcoming Movie Castings (That Could Be Amazing)

Jared Leto is a talented actor who has been on a pretty poor run of late, peaking with his critically panned performance as the Joker in the pretty terrible Suicide Squad. It therefore appears an odd choice to anchor a new superhero property with him as the lead but that is exactly what Marvel have done with the upcoming Morbius.

Leto will play a biochemist who accidentally infects himself with a form of vampirism and, at the very least, this seems to fit into Leto's darker aesthetic feel with some of his more recent roles. The potential silver lining for anyone who has followed Leto's career is how much potential he has as an actor to play an engaging and sympathetic character.

Films like Requiem For A Dream and Lord Of War highlight the ability that Leto possesses when he is on his A-game and the hope is that, after a few less than shining moments in recent outings, Leto can use Morbius and the juggernaut that is Marvel to relaunch his career as an undoubtedly gifted actor.
