5 Winners And 5 Losers From SDCC 2014

2. DC Television

Warner Brothers may be a bit slow when it comes to bringing their superheroes together on the big screen, but there's been a huge resurgence of DC Comics characters on the small screen, with four new shows hitting the airwaves in the fall. We've got Gotham premiering in September on Fox, The Flash debuting on The CW in early October along with Rob Thomas' adaptation of iZombie, and Constantine hitting NBC on October 24th. All four shows join The CW's Arrow, which has its season three premiere set for the day after The Flash's debut, on October 8th. Each show was represented at SDCC this year, not only in a 3-hour Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment panel, but in their own panels as well. On top of that, pilots for Gotham, Constantine, and The Flash were screened for audiences, while Arrow revealed several exciting plot developments for the third season, including the addition of characters like Wildcat and Ra's Al Ghul. The DC TV universe may not be crossing paths with the DC film universe, but the studio managed to convince us this year that that's not necessary. These shows are doing just fine, and will likely thrive, on their own.
