Joe Wright directs an origin story for Peter Pan (Levi Miller) and Captain Hook (Garrett Hedlund), which from what's been shown off so far, suggests a stylistically flamboyant prelude to the beloved Peter Pan story, one that just might have an ace in the hole with what appears to be a manic performance from Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard. Sure, this one could go either way, given how middling similar recent movies such as Oz: The Great and Powerful and Maleficent have been, but if it can harness this visually lush lunacy into something that's also coherent, fun and emotionally resonant, it could be one of 2015's most unforgettable blockbusters.
