Its a fact that DC enthusiasts will be forced to accept, and one that will forever haunt WB. Before Joss Whedon signed on the dotted line with Marvel and made The Avengers a household name (and billion-dollar property), he tried to make a Wonder Woman movie. As enthusiastic as Whedon was about the movie, though, the suits at WB in due course cooled on the idea, despite a script treatment being in place. Whedon officially departed the project in 2007, citing creative differences as the ultimate reason. Wonder Woman is, of course, bouncing back with Gal Gadot playing the Amazonian heroine in the forthcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice and (hopefully) her own solo film as well.
