50 Greatest James Bond Moments Of All Time

8. No Time To Die: The Death Of James Bond

Well, you never thought they'd actually do it... but they did it. James Bond actually died. At the end of No Time to Die, after an emotional goodbye over the phone to Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) Bond sacrifices himself to destroy Safin's (Rami Malek) biological weapon. Did this colossal risk pay off?

Well, this scene is one of the most beautiful, heart-breaking and bittersweet moments in any recent film, so it's safe to say it paid off.

Thanks to superb dialogue, the masterful acting from all involved and Hans Zimmer's gorgeous musical score - a track called 'Final Ascent', which is possibly the greatest instrumental score from any James Bond movie - it's a devastatingly emotional scene that'll leave many viewers sobbing uncontrollably.

That being said, those tears will be both happy and sad ones; as tough as it is to see Craig's Bond go, he tried a truly heroic death and had finally found happiness with Madeleine, even though their time together was short.

As already mentioned, No Time to Die isn't great but this final scene is damn-near flawless and could be 2021's best film scene.
