50 Infuriating Horror Movie Characters We All Secretly Wanted To Die

24. The Gallows - Ryan

If anyone ever says that Heather, Josh, and Mike are the most annoying camera operators in found-footage movies, they clearly haven't heard of this guy.

In this found-footage supernatural horror, four teens end up stuck in their high school at night and are stalked by... something or other to do with a fatal accident during a school play 20 years earlier, though it's not precisely explained. Now, The Gallows was already a bottom-of-the-barrel horror flick, but as if its headache-inducing shaky-cam visuals, naff story, and total lack of scares weren't already bad enough, there's also the guy who's filming it all: Ryan.

Ryan (Ryan Shoos) is one of those characters where it's impossible to figure out why anyone is friends with this guy. He's even got a glamorous cheerleader girlfriend, and again, what on earth does she see in him? He doesn't treat her with much respect. In fact, throughout the film, Ryan does not present a single redeeming quality to viewers, and he spends the picture rudely mocking everyone and dropping annoying jokes. He's not even tiresome in a funny way, either.

So, is this guy the most annoying found-footage camera operator of all time, then?
