Not all infuriating horror movie characters are malicious, per se. Some are just unforgivably stupid, such as these two from 2007's 28 Weeks Later. Tammy (a young Imogen Poots) and Andy (Mackintosh Muggleton) are possibly the stupidest kids in horror movie history, and that's saying a lot as they're facing some stiff competition on that front.
Seven months after the events of the original film, a safe zone has been set up in London by the US military. Tammy and Andy were abroad during the outbreak and are reunited with their father in the safe zone, but their mother is presumed dead. Now, these two are worried about forgetting what she looks like, so they... sneak out of the safe zone and head into the unsafe London just to get a photograph.
There's stupid, and then there's that.
They find their mother at home, who's got the virus but is uninfected, and she's brought back to the safe zone, leading to a chain of events that ensure a new outbreak of the virus and the deaths of hundreds of innocent people, all because of these stupid kids wanting to fetch a photo. To make matters worse, audiences are made to endure the sight of the far more likable adult characters sacrificing themselves to protect these siblings, as their DNA could hold the key to a cure. Therefore, it is difficult not to hate them.
