50 Infuriating Horror Movie Characters We All Secretly Wanted To Die

21. The Belko Experiment - Wendell Dukes

Death-game horror flick The Belko Experiment, written by none other than James Gunn, ultimately has plenty of villainous characters who partake in the gore-soaked carnage, but most of those guys are stealth villains. Their dark sides come out only after the building is locked down, and prior to that, they seem OK enough.

Wendell Dukes (John C. McGinley) is the exception. Even before the workers are instructed to kill each other, he's a repellent man, not to mention a total pervert who spends much of the film creepily hitting on female lead Leandra (Adria Arjona). He's also the only worker who seems to enjoy killing everyone, and there's an unmistakable sadism to his behaviour. In contrast, the other characters kill to survive and do so with an air of reluctance.

Towards the end, Wendell gets the movie's most graphic death, with Leandra - who was, as aforementioned, harassed by him on multiple occasions - smashing his head open with an axe. This is a death that viewers had been hoping for since the opening scenes, so that was lovely to watch.
