50 Infuriating Horror Movie Characters We All Secretly Wanted To Die

The Saw franchise is absolutely full of unlikable characters, sure, but most of them were supposed to be unlikable. As such, Saw 3D's Detective Matt Gibson (Chad Donella) is an exception. The main cop character in the final film of the franchise's original run was apparently a character audiences were supposed to root for. Instead, they'll be cheering when he's taken out by an automatic machine gun trap.

The issue isn't that Gibson does anything particularly amoral, but it's more that he's such a bratty, rude little jerk who speaks to everyone else as if they were dog mess on his shoe. Furthermore, while there have been many bad performances in the Saw movies over the years, Chad Donella's howlingly dreadful performance outdoes them all. It's difficult to watch his conversation with Jill Tuck (Betsy Russell) in a police safe house without face-palming, as he patronizingly insists that Mark Hoffman can't find her there because, "It's a safe house! Safe house, safe house! You get it?!", acting like a stroppy teenager instead of a cop.

Seconds later, Gibson finds that Hoffman has sent something to the 'safe house' and knows exactly where they are, prompting Gibson to exclaim "Goddamn it!" as if he'd just lost the TV remote or something.
