50 Infuriating Horror Movie Characters We All Secretly Wanted To Die

In slasher movies, jerk characters will usually take the form of arrogant jocks or Mean Girl Queen Bee figures. Danielle (Rachel Matthews) fills the latter role in Christopher Landon's slasher comedy Happy Death Day, as well as its 2019 sequel Happy Death Day 2U. 

Danielle is an exaggeratedly obnoxious figure, thus tying neatly into the heightened, knowing vibe both of these movies created. She's very much a character you love to hate, one that provokes laughter and exasperation in equal measure. Interestingly, protagonist Tree (Jessica Rothe) does start out in a similar vein at the beginning, but learns to be a better person as the story progresses. 

Danielle, on the other hand, never changes. She doesn't die, but the ending of Happy Death Day 2U shows that US government officials are testing their time-loop technology on her, at Tree's suggestion. Well, there was no other character in these movies that deserved it more, so fair enough! 

A long-delayed third film is apparently happening, so we might have to put up with more of Danielle before too long.
