50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2022
24. White Noise
Noah Baumbach continues his win-win relationship with Netflix with his new drama White Noise, based on Don DeLillo's 1985 novel.
Adam Driver stars as Prof. Jack Gladney, whose life is turned upside down when a train crash causes chemical waste to rain down over his town.
Greta Gerwig co-stars as his wife Babette, while the cast is rounded out by André Benjamin, Alessandro Nivola, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Don Cheadle.
Between the acclaimed source material, Baumbach's directorial rep, and his killer cast, this could be another major awards player or simply a quality, daring "art-house" drama made available to a much wider audience courtesy of its streaming release.
White Noise releases on Netflix later this year.
23. Scream
Much as the world certainly didn't need another Scream film - especially one without departed creator Wes Craven - there's still a lot to be excited about with this belated fifth installment.
Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin Tyler Gillett have taken up Craven's mantle for a sequel that's allegedly taking aim at franchise re-imaginings and "legacy sequels" like 2018's Halloween.
Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette are all back of course, alongside a large ensemble cast of hot young actors, many of whom will presumably end up on the end of the new Ghostface's blade, whoever they are.
Given the series' solid batting average to date, it's easy to have faith in this being a worthy addition to the mythology.
Scream releases on January 14.
