You could be forgiven for having never heard of an obscure Christopher Reeve made-for-TV movie called Above Suspicion. It was, for the most part, pretty forgettable, and quickly faded into the dusty pages of Hollywood history. It remains notable, however, for being Reeve's final role before the tragic horse-riding accident that led to his permanent paralysis. The former Superman actor would remain in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

So what part did Reeve play in Above Suspicion? A police officer, shot in the spine and confined permanently to a wheelchair. He had spent days prior to filming at a spinal cord trauma unit in order to research paralysis and what it would be like to live with the injury. In a bizarre, ominous twist of fate, the actor would find himself in the same situation just two days after the film's release.
