7 Comic Book Movie Endings That Really Needed A Sequel
2. Dredd
Although it crashed and burned at the box-office - making just $41.5m on an estimated budget of $35-40m - 2012's Dredd has since gained a considerable cult following.
The intense action, violence, and humour, led by Karl Urban's excellent lead performance, have led to calls for a follow-up to be made, which is now more likely to happen in the form of a TV show (although that, too, is making slow progress).
Dredd ends with the Judge defeating Ma-Ma, before telling the Chief that Anderson has passed her test, paving the way for a fully-fledged team-up between the two, while Alex Garland had plans for an entire trilogy that would include exploring more of Mega-City One's origins and introducing characters such as Judge Death. There's some serious potential there, especially if Garland remained involved, and the TV show will have to go some way to reaching it (should it ever actually happen).
