7 Villains It'd Be Great To See Hinted At In The Amazing Spider-Man 2

6. Mister Negative

Mister Negative Mister Negative is a very underrated Spider-Man villain who is never really considered to be up there with the best of the webbed wonder's rogues, despite the fact that he's actually very cool. It would refreshingly stray away from the more obvious choices to have him in a live action movie and, therefore, it would be nice to see him hinted at in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Mister Negative's alter-ego is Martin Li - an illegal Chinese immigrant from the Fujian province who attempted to travel to America to be with his wife. Initially thought to be a slave on the Golden Mountain (the ship on which he travelled to America), he was actually a crew member who was part of the gang controlling it. The only survivor of the ship's wreckage after a storm, he went on to build a fortune for himself in America, all while dedicating himself to caring for the less fortunate. Martin Li was not his real name - he stole the identity from one of the dead slaves to hide himself from his gang's enemies, but they found him and experimented on him with a synthetic drug created by Maggia chemist Simon Marshall that could be more potent than heroin. He escaped with the help of two other experimental inmates and was soon transformed into two men - the kind-hearted Li and the villainous Mister Negative. As Mister Negative, a man who considers himself to be a crime king, he came in to conflict with Spider-Man. He possesses powers such as superhuman strength, the ability to mentally dominate opponents, a healing touch and the ability to switch between his reversed (negative) and regular appearance. A very cool and easy way to hint at him could be similar to how the Joker was hinted at in Batman Begins - he could leave a calling card of a negative photograph. Maybe only the die-hard Spider-Man comic fans would get it, but it would be a nice Easter egg.
