4. Angelus

Like Spike, Angelus shared the big bad mantle with a number of other villains, and his story could be condensed in to a movie quite easily. He could turn up at Sunnydale in the guise of a student, meet Buffy in the Bronze (Sunnydale's student hangout), fall in love with Buffy and turn in to Angelus during a lovemaking scene. The key to Angelus' threat, particularly to Buffy, isn't only in his physical strength and powers - it's his emotional manipulation and psychological games. Having him as an initial love interest for a new Buffy would make it so that he knows intimate things about her and might make her hesitant to kill him because she remembers him as her lover. Like Spike, finding a new actor for Angel (having been played previously by David Boreanaz) and having him accepted by the fans of the show might be a tough task, but if the people in charge of the movie got it right, it could be extremely worthwhile as a plot.
