7 Ways The Arrowverse Is Better Than The DCEU

2. The Multiverse

Oh, the multiverse. What a beautiful haven for comic writers and comic fans alike. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, the multiverse is essentially a term used to describe all of the parallel universes that encompass the fictional one. And that's what makes it stand out from other uses of parallel worlds in sci-fi: the scale. There are parallel universes for evil counterparts, Utopian worlds, or simply ones where a different person died in someone else's place. It would be an understatement to say that the Arrowverse manages to handle it with care.

The multiverse was introduced in the second season of The Flash, where the titular character runs so quickly that he breaks the inter-dimensional boundaries, accidentally travelling to Earth-38 - the home of Supergirl, which was owned by CBS at the time. Thus, a major a high-scale concept was introduced to connect two show's from different networks. But the Arrowverse couldn't stop there. Season two of The Flash would go on to tie its big bad - Zoom - to Earth-2, as well as bringing back a less evil, but still morally dubious, Harrison Wells from the same earth.

The multiverse brought refreshing story-telling into the Arrowverse, ruling out the impossible and elevating story-lines to epic proportions in events, such as Crisis on Earth X and the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths.
