8 Actors Who Parodied Themselves In 2013 Movies

4. Seth MacFarlane Plays On His Supposed Apathy - Movie 43

Seth Macfarlane Movie 43 If just reading the words "Movie 43" feels like an insult to your very being, congratulations: you have good taste in films. If you've somehow managed to avoid Movie 43 in every way imaginable way thus far and still have no idea what is, we salute you. We also envy you greatly, because this thing is a piece of sh*t if ever there was one. The idea, of course, was to assemble the largest cast ever assembled for a sort of sketch comedy movie. Usually such ambitious conceits don't come to fruition, but this time - and nobody is really sure why - it actually happened. That's to say, everyone in Hollywood pretty much has a part in Movie 43, from Oscar-winners like Kate Winslet, to "I'll do anything because I don't care" hacks like Snooki from Jersey Shore. Richard Gere, Halle Berry, Stephen Merchant, Naomi Watts and Hugh Jackman also turn up for a few minutes at a time. And then there's Seth MacFarlane, the only actor in the whole movie who actually plays himself. Why? Because in the US cut of the movie (the framework differs depending on the country), MacFarlane turns up in a scene where he parodies his perceived apathy towards his TV shows, calling American Dad "American Guy" instead.
