8 Actors Who Hated Working On Batman Movies
7. Jeremy Irons - Batman V Superman
When the highly anticipated Batman V Superman finally landed on screens in 2016, it's fair to say people were a tad disappointed with the end result.
As it goes, BVS's Alfred himself Jeremy Irons shared these sentiments and went on record to state that he felt the film absolutely deserved the critical panning it received upon release:
"Deservedly so. I mean it took £800 million, so the kicking didn’t matter but it was sort of overstuffed… It was very muddled. I think the next one will be simpler. The script is certainly a lot smaller, it’s more linear.”
Despite Irons being a little off when it came to his Justice League predictions, he was bang on the money with his summary of the DCEU's first Batman movie.
Also, when talking about if working on big budget productions like BVS or Justice League was as rewarding as being part of smaller features, Irons later revealed:
“Less so, because they’re so slow. There’s a lot of waiting around and then a huge amount of publicity. One spends 70% of the time doing publicity, 10% of the time filming, and 20% of the time waiting.”
Fingers crossed the legendary thespian gets to enjoy being part of at least one adored Batman flick with a less arduous publicity schedule before he retires as Master Bruce's faithful butler.
