8 Actors Who Hated Working On Batman Movies
6. Marion Cotillard - The Dark Knight Rises
Though The Dark Knight Rises is by no means a perfect movie, it's still a generally well made film with a number of standout performances from the likes of Tom Hardy as Bane, Christian Bale as a broken down Batman/Bruce Wayne, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman/Selina Kyle and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul.
Yet, despite delivering the goods for the majority of her time on-screen in the series ending flick, Cotillard's performance during Talia's death was widely criticised by movie-goers all around the world.
A few years later, the actor sensationally admitted that she agreed with the fans and couldn't understand why director Christopher Nolan chose to keep that take in the finished product:
“Sometimes there are failures, and when you see this on screen, you’re thinking: ‘Why? Why did they keep that take?’
The Oscar-winning actor also revealed:
"When I’m doing the best I can to find the authenticity in every character that I’m playing, it’s tough to be known just for this scene.”
Nolan clearly felt that this was the version of Talia's demise which best suited the rest of the trilogy-concluding epic. But, Cotillard obviously disagreed and felt there was a more authentic take that ended up being wasted in favour of her now infamous last breath.
Cotillard-cut anyone?
