8 Actors Who Walked Out On Famous Movies
7. John Cusack - Better Off Dead
It's not uncommon to hear of thespians not being entirely satisfied with their work.
Look no further than John Cusack's response to a flick which contained a hamburger strumming a guitar like a veteran rockstar as an unfortunate example of a star having instant regret about the way a picture and their performance has come together.
After director Savage Steve Holland opted to screen Better Off Dead to the cast and crew of his next film, One Crazy Summer (that former flick hadn't been released yet), the film's star Cusack quickly stormed out after 20 minutes. The following morning, Holland recalled his leading man claiming, "Better Off Dead was the worst thing I have ever seen. I will never trust you as a director ever again, so don't speak to me.'"
Cusack would soften on the subject in later years, telling a Reddit AMA in 2013, "I just thought it could have been better, but I think that about almost all my films." But that didn't change the fact that his initial harsh words "made (Holland) not care about movies anymore".
