8 Actors Who Will Ruin Upcoming Films

1. Sophie Turner - X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Casting Game of Thrones stars in films regardless of their suitability for the part is a cynical move Hollywood keeps pulling, in the hope of tapping into the show's global success.

X-Men: Apocalypse did it by handing the role of Jean Grey to Sophie Turner, who gave an abominable performance as the telepathic mutant. To call her wooden is an insult to a useful raw material and fire fuel.

Turner, who has proved herself an increasingly capable actress during the course of GoT, failed to command any screen presence or even maintain an American accent throughout Apocalypse.

This is bad enough in a supporting role in an ensemble film, but Dark Phoenix will see her graduate to leading lady and her shortcomings will be all the more difficult to hide, and could even end up toppling the movie.

The X-Men series is standing by its choice of Jean for now, but perhaps Fox will take the opportunity to kill her off unless Turner has taken the criticism on board and addressed her Apocalypse failings.
