8 Annoying Comic Book Movie Trends That Must Die In 2017

2. Fake Deaths Of Any Kind

Death is a serious matter - unless you're a character in a comic book movie, that is, when your death demands to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Remember when Nick Fury died in Captain America: Civil War and we all mourned the character but applauded Marvel for being brave, only for said character to reveal that he was actually alive about forty minutes later? How about when they killed Coulson off in The Avengers, and then gave him his own television series? What about when Superman died at the end of Batman v Superman? Oh, you think he's actually dead, do you? You know better than to believe in such codswallop!

Listen, I get it, the studios need to create tension, and sometimes the only way for them to do that is to make audiences think that some of these characters are actually dead. But now they've deceived their fanbase way too many times, so nobody buys into these fake deaths anymore. They're perfunctory.

The only character who ever gets to properly die is Uncle Ben. Poor guy.
