5. Matthew Vaughn Producing Adaptation Of Mark Millar's Superior

Mark Millar is no stranger to having his work adapted for the big screen. We've already seen Kick-Ass, Kick-Ass 2, and Wanted films, and will see Matthew Vaughn's adaptation of The Secret Service later this year. There are also films for Nemesis, Kindergarten Heroes, and Starlight in the works, and now we can add Superior to that list. Matthew Vaughn will produce the film at 20th Century Fox, and a search for a screenwriter is currently underway. Superior tells the story of a popular and athletic 12 year-old boy, who is tragically stricken with multiple sclerosis. One day, he meets an alien monkey (seriously) who grants him one wish: to become his favorite superhero, Superior. He relishes in his life as a hero until he discovers that the space monkey is actually a demon, who demands the boy's soul, lest he want to return to his original form. Superior definitely sounds like it could be a great superhero movie, so it will be interesting to see how this production shakes out. Can you believe we might get a Superior film before a Shazam movie? What a world we live in...
