Natalie Portman has always looked ill at ease within the MCU, and her lack of engagement outside of Thor speaks volumes. It’s hard to blame her since Jane Foster is pretty much a damsel in distress, but her lack of chemistry with Hemsworth has always made their scenes together a slog.

In The Dark World, she clearly didn’t want to be there, and if the character returns she should be played by somebody who actually does. Keira Knightley is the world’s leading Portman lookalike, and she’s proven in the last few years to be a fine dramatic actress thanks to A Dangerous Method and Never Let Me Go.

If not, Olivia Wilde would be a fine choice; she and Hemsworth worked very well together in Rush.
