3. Battle of Stirling - Braveheart
This battle makes the list not because Mel Gibson is himself nuttier than a fruitcake but because he channelled his raging insanity into one of the most go for broke battles in the annals of filmdom. Throwing history completely out the window (the battle of Stirling took place on a bridge for starters), Mel lets it all hang out from full frontal male nudity, severed limbs spraying old faithful-sized geysers of blood to fifteen foot spears skewering horses; once you see this battle it cant be unseen.
