8 Ensemble Casting Choices For Next James Bond Movie
7. Gwendoline Christie As A Rival Agent
Whilst all other casting choices are for well-established characters, the Bond producers would do well to create a new character to signal a true shift in direction and the start of a new era. This role should be a rival agent of Bond’s who can compete with his wit, intellect and most importantly, his muscle. Enter Gwendoline Christie…
At first glance, Christie immediately checks the final box of having the power to compete physically with Bond. At a staggering 6′ 3″, the broad-shouldered Christie would be more than a match for any choice of 007. Additionally, her roles as Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones and Captain Phasma proudly displayed her knack for physical and demanding action roles.
What might be most promising is Christie’s ability for dramatic scenes. Her scenes as Brienne of Tarth with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s Jaime Lannister were some of the most gripping in the show’s entire run and exuded emotion and power. Therefore, should the producers decide to further explore their relationship beyond a simple power struggle, Christie would be more than ample to wow audiences.
