6. Erotic Nights Of The Living Dead (1980)
With its twin movie - Porno Holocaust - made back to back in San Domingo, Erotic Nights of the Living Dead was an attempt by Italian sleaze maestro Joe D'Amato to fuse hardcore sex with horror thrills. And it is a gobsmacking stinker of a film - being completely unerotic and containing some lame gore - so neither porn lovers or horror fans are satisfied. About the best thing in the film is the presence of Indonesian born, Black Emanuelle Goddess - Laura Gemser. She does not indulge in any hardcore scenes and merely floats about the movie looking ethereally beautiful. The rest of the film contains some horrid hardcore - a woman popping a champagne bottle cork during a revolting dance sequence with her vagina. Right at the beginning we are treated to a threesome with two women frolicking with a man's genitals that are covered in warts. This sight is far far more nauseating than the gore in the film which mainly consists of crappy looking zombies taking a paltry bite out of their human's neck. There are no buckets of animal innards, which would have immeasurably helped the film. Overall assessment? Scummy and cheap, Erotic Nights of the Living Dead is one for both D'Amato enthusiasts and completists only. Anyone else will be totally bewildered at the foul spectacle unravelling before them.
