8 Great Characters Marvel Movies Have Completely Screwed Up

1. Stature

Don't get me wrong, the relationship between Scott Lang and his daughter in Ant-Man was definitely touching, but by casting such a young actress, Marvel has made a huge mistake. In the comic books, the teenage Cassie became Stature and joined the Young Avengers following the death of her father, and that's a very unique and diverse team which has a ton of potential to find success on the big screen. While Marvel could certainly switch actresses and have her grow up pretty fast between movies, we're a very long way off Cassie ever becoming Stature now, and that closes a lot of doors to some very exciting and interesting storytelling possibilities (Scott finding out his daughter was stealing Pym Particles and going off with her friends to fight crime for example). While none of this would have likely factored into Ant-Man last year, it still would have been much more interesting to explore the dynamic between Scott and an older Cassie with a greater understanding of why he went to prison rather than a young child who just idolises him. Unless the studio has zero interest in tackling a Young Avengers adaptation - which is a downright ridiculous position to take on such a great property - it seems as if they really weren't thinking ahead when it comes to the future of this character. With The Wasp rightly stepping up in the sequel, it's easy to imagine Cassie being pushed even further into the background now, but Marvel only has themselves to blame for that as they missed out on the chance to develop what should have been a really exciting addition to the MCU. Instead, Cassie is just a cute kid pretty much everyone has already forgotten.
