8 Greatest 'I'm Dead And I Know It' Moments In Found Footage Horror Movies

3. Amy Herman - Megan Is Missing

Michael Goi's Megan Is Missing is such a tough picture to get your head around.

On the one hand, this 2011 offering is brilliantly constructed, featuring exceptional performances and one of the biggest shocks in modern horror history. But on the other hand? Yeesh, Megan Is Missing is such a brutally messed up film.

The basic premise of this picture revolves around the disappearance of the titular 14-year-old Megan (Rachel Quinn), and Megan's best friend Amy's subsequent mission to find her pal. That sleuth work sees Amber Perkins' Amy discover how Megan had been kidnapped by Josh (Dean Waite), a young man she'd met online, before Amy herself is then abducted.

In one of the most jarring moments of an utterly jarring movie, audiences see Amy chained up, pleading for food and raped. But even then, there's a meek light at the end of the tunnel for Perkins' character when she is promised freedom so long as she gets into a barrel.

A stomach-turning scene that nobody will ever forget, it's then that Amy realises her fate - as inside said barrel is the decaying corpse of Megan.
