8 Heroes Who Could Be The Marvel Cinematic Universe's First Gay Character

4. Hulkling

Mary Jane Watson Spider Man
Marvel Comics

Hulkling and Wiccan are Marvel Comics' most high profile gay couple to date, and even though the latter is a mutant and would most likely fall under 20th Century Fox's umbrella, Hulkling, AKA Dorrek VIII, AKA Theodore "Teddy" Altman would make for a very interesting addition to the MCU.

In the comics the character is a half-Kree, half-Skrull shapeshifter with super strength, who may or may not be the son of the Hulk. With Marvel about to step up their cosmic adventuring in a big way leading into Infinity War and the recent introduction of the Inhumans, what better opportunity to do a bit of origin tampering and have Hulkling bridge both worlds as the newest member of The Avengers?

No Wiccan? No problem! Just a mention of a boyfriend he regrets having to leave back on his home planet is enough to establish Hulkling's sexuality if Marvel are still a bit jittery about depicting an openly gay relationship on screen.
