8 Horror Movie Monsters Scarier Than The Actual Villain

3. Toshio - Ju-On: The Grudge

Kayako is of course one of the most famous ghosts in horror cinema.

The villain of The Grudge franchise is tied only with Sadako as the best of the best when it comes to iconic pale ghost ladies with long, black hair. Whether she's creeping around in your bed or having a cheeky grab in the shower, she always manages to appear at the most inopportune time to scare you silly.

There are a bunch of similar spirits that appear throughout the series though, and the second most notable is Toshio, the dead son of Kayako. While not as overtly creepy as his mother - after all, he's just a little kid running around in his pants - his presence is always unnerving.

While Kayako will show up for the big scares, there's something about Toshio stalking around the house and haunting you that's so effective.

Kids in horror are always scarier than adults anyway, and you can't tell me the sight of a little ghost child out the corner of your eye wouldn't be enough to send you running for the hills.
