8 Huge Captain America: Civil War & Doctor Strange Reveals From D23
4. Ant-Man Is Probably Going To Steal The Show
One announcement which sadly didn't come at D23 was an Ant-Man sequel. The movie hasn't been the runaway hit that Guardians Of The Galaxy was this time last year, but it has done well so far. Even so, Marvel clearly aren't going to be rushed into adding a follow-up to their Phase 3 slate, and while that's a shame, we will at least get to see Scott Lang again in Captain America: Civil War next year. The footage shown off by Kevin Feige at the event actually concluded with a scene featuring Captain America and The Falcon opening the back of Scott's van and waking him up from a nap. He's apparently completely starstruck by the patriotic leader of The Avengers and begins shaking Steve's hand for far too long before blurting out, "You know a lot of super people, so thinks for thanking of me." Embarrassing, eh? It sounds like Ant-Man is actually a huge Captain America fanboy (similar to Agent Coulson in The Avengers), so their dynamic in Civil War should be a lot of fun to see play out. Don't go thinking that he'll end up being little more than comic relief though; recent rumours have pointed to Scott becoming Giant-Man in this movie and delivering one its most memorable fight scenes, possibly against Spider-Man. While he'll no doubt add some levity to what's sure to be a very serious movie, Marvel are clearly making sure Ant-Man is treated well here before they decide on where to take him next.
