5. Guy Pearce
Guy Pearce has come a long way since his brief stint on Home and Away. He previously had a much larger role in Neighbours between 1986 and 1989, but it was following his twelve-episode arc in H&A which cemented him as a seriously popular star in Australia.
Pearce played David Croft, who comes to Summer Bay intent on patching things up with his sister Lucinda (Dee Smart), who he had previously alienated because of a previous money issue.
Since leaving the show, Pearce has become a big name in Hollywood. With roles in L.A Confidential (1997), Memento (2000), The Road (2009), The Hurt Locker (also 2009), The King's Speech (2010) and Prometheus (2012), amongst many others, the actor has made a name for himself as a consistent and powerhouse performer who often takes daring and unconventional roles.
His most commercially successful movie came with his villainous turn in Iron Man 3 (2013), and his most recent role came in the TV miniseries A Christmas Carol (2019), where he portrayed Ebenezer Scrooge to rave reviews.
